What it does
Brain Chat is a dashboard that combines a chatbot and a 3D plot to assist doctors in diagnosing and treating patients with neurological disorders. The chatbot component powered by the GPT3 model 'curie' and a large corpus of text on neuroanatomy can provide information on which parts of the brain may be affected based on the symptoms provided by the user. The 3D plot component allows the user to locate the affected areas of the brain, view the cross section of the brain and understand the location of the lesion in a visual format. The dashboard is built using Dash Plotly in Python and can be used for surgical planning and rehabilitation.
How we built it
Brain Chat was built using the Dash Plotly web application framework in Python. The chatbot component of the dashboard is powered by the GPT3 model 'curie' and an input directory containing a large corpus of text on neuroanatomy. The 3D plot component was created using Plotly, a library for creating interactive and sharable plots. The dashboard was developed with a focus on an intuitive user interface and seamless integration with a wide range of tools and libraries.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges in building Brain Chat was integrating the chatbot and 3D plot components into a single cohesive dashboard. Another challenge was ensuring the accuracy and relevancy of the information provided by the chatbot component. We also faced challenges in creating an interactive 3D plot that can be easily manipulated by users.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the seamless integration of the chatbot and 3D plot components into a single dashboard. We are also proud of the accuracy and relevancy of the information provided by the chatbot component. Additionally, we are proud of creating an interactive 3D plot that can be easily manipulated by users.
What we learned
During the development of Brain Chat, we learned about the power of GPT3 for natural language processing and the importance of creating an intuitive user interface for complex medical data. We also gained experience in using the Dash Plotly web application framework and Plotly library for creating interactive and sharable plots.
What's next for Brain Chat - A Brain Diagnostic Assistant Tool
In the future, we plan to further improve the accuracy and relevancy of the chatbot component by incorporating more diverse and up-to-date data on neurological disorders. We also plan to add more features to the 3D plot component, such as the ability to highlight specific regions of the brain in a better way and view real-time simulations of neurological processes. Additionally, we plan to expand the scope of Brain Chat to include other medical fields and create a comprehensive diagnostic assistant tool.
