Inspiration

The current time requires people to work from home while they learn through digital platforms which results in teams needing to manage multiple separate tools for video conferencing project tracking and in-depth research or AI support. The design team developed OPTIMUS MAX to function as a "Unified Intelligence Workspace" which combines all workspace elements into one environment that supports both communication and context-based work and knowledge sharing. We developed a platform which saves information but also provides users with tools to comprehend the stored data.

A next generation workspace where collaboration meets continuous learning

How we built it

We developed Brain AI through the implementation of advanced technological systems which deliver optimal performance and enable immediate user interactions.

Frontend & Framework: The team selected Next.js 15 together with the App Router to create an ultra-quick website which provides search engine optimization benefits for users.

AI Engine: The project core operates through the conjunction of Google GenKit and Gemini. We established customized AI pathways which enable intelligent task recommendation and chat content summarization and document-analysis educational assistance.

Real-Time Communication: We used the Agora RTC SDK to enable users to make high-quality video and audio calls with low latency through the project workspace.

Backend & Auth: Firebase (Firestore and Authentication) functions as our primary system which handles user information and maintains continuous project status throughout the entire development process.

Design System: The design system uses Tailwind CSS together with Radix UI to create an interface which delivers high-quality visual appeal and responsive design across all devices.

Challenges we ran into

The GenKit flows needed to produce reliable high-quality outputs which our task-suggestion engine required as its fundamental structure. The process required us to test multiple times through both prompt development and schema testing. The project dashboard required multiple users to participate in a video call because our team needed to adjust Firebase listeners which controlled project state management to stop simultaneous access problems. The latest version of Next.js required our team to integrate it with GenKit but we overcame this initial compatibility problem by creating custom hooks and using modular design.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The AI Learning Assistant has achieved remarkable success because our team developed its functionality through their work with various AI technologies. The system provides users with customized learning experiences through its document integration which enables access to user-uploaded materials. The ability to transform intricate slide presentations into simpler forms and to convert extended meeting discussions into precise action plans has become our achievement through development work.

What we learned

The development of BRAIN AI required us to explore the future possibilities of "Agentic UI." Our research demonstrated to us how to:

Design sophisticated AI systems which produce structured data through their advanced chat capabilities to generate task lists. We achieved the ability to synchronize present-time WebRTC states through Agora with Firestore database states while maintaining system efficiency. We designed a user-focused interface which enables users to navigate complex AI functions because they will find document analysis features to be user-friendly.

What's next for Brain AI

  1. Autonomous Team Members (AI Agents) The next step is moving from "AI as a tool" to "AI as a teammate."

Actionable Agents The AI system will execute complete tasks by drafting follow-up emails and updating GitHub tickets and researching specific topics from video calls instead of merely suggesting tasks. Meeting Copilot The AI participant of Agora video calls will conduct live fact-checking and deliver relevant project documents during the conversation.

Mobile PWA & Native Apps: The mobile applications enable full access to Agora video and GenKit insights through offline-first functionality. The system will develop a "Connectors" hub that enables users to synchronize Brain AI with Slack GitHub Notion and Google Workspace. Users will use this hub as their primary interface for all work activities.
