Inspiration

African Americans are 1.7 times more likely to be diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic more than non hispanic or whites. Bracelet One digitizes the healthcare experience for those at risk.

What it does

Based on a sliding income scale set by treatment centers, the app accepts debit and credit card payments to assess, manage, and connect real-time health data with primary care teams.

How I built it

The iOS application uses bluetooth devices to keep track of health data which is sharable with loved ones and clinicians using CareKit.

Challenges I ran into

Deciphering what is important to two types of people involved: 1. The patient 2. Health care professionals

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm really proud of the design and technologies that I got a chance to use such as Authorize.net and Amazon Web Services

What I learned

I learned what it possibly takes to be persistent in seeing a project through that you believe in.

What's next for Bracelet One

It would be nice to grow the platform to account for any type of health diagnosis and not just one.
