Inspiration

We aimed to create something enjoyable that people could easily engage with, prompting laughter and sparking conversations. The game is designed to be simple and inviting, ensuring that no one feels excluded, regardless of their trivia knowledge.

What it does

BQuicker is all about quick thinking and prompt responses! It's a multiplayer game where everyone has three lives, and the goal is to answer simple, entertaining questions accurately. On computers, players can use the 'a' and 'l' keys for Player 1 and Player 2 respectively, or click on their side of the screen. On phones and tablets, a quick tap on the appropriate side will suffice.

How we built it

We developed BQuicker using Python and the Pygame library, seeking additional help along the way since we were newcomers to this technology. This approach allowed us to learn and apply coding skills effectively, turning our ideas into a fun, interactive game.

Challenges we ran into

As beginners in game development, mastering the appropriate use of programming languages was a steep learning curve. Moreover, this being our first collaborative project, learning to work effectively as a team posed its own set of challenges. Coordinating tasks, merging different parts of the game, and maintaining communication required significant effort and adaptation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

We learned a lot about Python and Pygame while working on BQuicker, like what makes a game fun to play. We also got better at working as a team and sharing tasks, which really helped us get the job done.

What's next for BQuicker

Inspired by how much fun we had playing BQuicker together, we plan to expand the game to support up to six players simultaneously. We discovered that playing together not only made the development process enjoyable but also helped us focus on creating a truly engaging experience. Our next step is to enhance the game to ensure that future players can share in the same delightful and immersive experience that kept us so entertained.
