Inspiration

BPV RippleFusion emerged from a clear need in the financial sector: many smaller remittance companies grappled with integrating technologies like the Ripple blockchain and the potenial efficencies of CBDCs. Despite the potential of Ripple Blockchain & CBDCs to revolutionize operations for Money Transfer Operators, FinTechs, and more, the perceived complexities and risks deterred many. We stepped in to bridge this gap. BPV RippleFusion was our answer, a solution that simplifies the integration of Ripple's CBDCs for these entities, ensuring they reap the rewards while minimizing risks and inefficiencies. Our goal? Make blockchain-powered payments straightforward and accessible for all.

Our 3 part solution increases revenues, reduces chargebacks/fraud & improves working capital and enables treasury efficiencies.‍ User pain points are exploding card chargeback & fraud rates for online payments. High card interchange & processor assorted fees for total card cost & delays in processor funding we address by implementing CBDCs as a payment mechanism for FinTechs.

Subsequently we are using CBDCs as an additional product for cash in & out at authorized locations to obtain new users & revenues as well as remove the need for prefunding.

What We Learned

While creating BPV RippleFusion, we discovered many new features on the Ripple XRPL platform we didn't know about before. This includes new functions and cool features like Checks, Clawbacks, and Hooks. We hadn't realized these tools existed, showing how important it is to keep learning and adjusting in the quickly changing world of blockchain.

How We Built Our Project

Our backend leverages the XRPL Python library and Django/PostgreSQL and on the front end we employ the React and the xrpl.js8 library and Ubuntu Linux. For authentication we used a both Auth0 or Authentik Oauth2. Our solution combines a mixture of AWS KMS with external HSM encryption, Microsoft Azure and Intel SGX for transaction signing, ensuring state-of-the-art security in the protection of secret keys. For code management we use Github combined with Github actions for continual deployment. Figma is used for UI/UX design and Clickup is our project management tool.

Challenges We Faced

Our project was not without challenges. Integrating different technologies into one seamless solution required meticulous planning and execution. Understanding and adapting to the ever-changing landscape of blockchain and CBDCs was a constant learning process. Ensuring the highest level of security while maintaining user-friendliness posed significant technical hurdles. Working with smaller remittance companies also meant understanding and catering to unique business needs, which demanded flexibility and constant adaptation.
