Board games are... well boring. This game is a fun way to spend time with friends while enjoying the brain-teaser that is B.O.M.B.
What it does
It's a 2 player puzzle game that involves communication between a reader and a diffuser. The reader has to help the diffuser solve all of the puzzles.
How we built it
We used microcontrollers along with input devices such as buttons and potentiometers and output devices like LEDs, buzzers, and an LCD. We lazer cut the box and lazer engraved the designs.
Challenges we ran into
Creating a data line between the 2 arduino unos was incredibly difficult; none of us initially knew how most communication platforms such as I2C work, and had to overcome these obstacles.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the completeness of this project. We were able to create a full product, from the hardware to the software, from the design to the full case and product.
What we learned
Learning to use multiple microcontrollers, communicating with each other.
What's next for Box Of Massive Boom
Creating more than one! This game is most fun when played with others, and adding a 2v2 element would make it more fun. Adding a leaderboard will also make the game more interesting.
