Bowl Street Journal

Inspiration

As college students ourselves we thought that having a webpage that provided Financial Tutoring, Market Data and Budget Tracking would be extremely useful. The Frutiger Aero theme creates a fun sense of nostalgia to the tech that we grew up with. This lead us down the path of an early 2000's Financial theme with the aesthetic leaning toward that early Microsoft era mixed with the aquatic life that frequently appear in Frutiger Aero creations.

What it does

As stated above it provides Financial Tutoring, Market Data and Budget Tracking but it also comes with a very helpful Gemini API powered Agent in the form of a Talking Fish (GIll Gates) that gives you budgeting advice, manages your goals and helps you navigate the Bowl Street Journal.

How we built it

Started a page in Canva to draw out a plan of what we wanted before any code was written.

Challenges we ran into

We had a few challenges when it came to agreeing where we wanted to the design, along with what technologies we were going to use at first,

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are super happy with how interactive the world became! We were slowing piecing together different inspirations and were very surprised on the final turnout!

What we learned

We learned how we can work together, as not everyone in our group this year was a Computer Science Student, and we needed to know how to allocate work and design to each other! We also used a dual monitor to bounce design off each other and that worked so well!
