Inspiration

This project is built for Baron Davis's build challenge

Game marketplaces is inherently unfair to smaller individual game developers. Existing platforms like Steam charges 30% commission, leaving no room for profit.

Bounty offers a more competitive revenue sharing model and levels the playing field for indie games and their developers.

What it does

Bounty lets individual game developers to upload, market and sell their games, bringing gamers a wider and diverse selection of games, from AAA to indie titles.

How we built it

We used Vercel, NextJS, and Tailwind to build the frontend of our website. And we store games in an S3 bucket where users could upload and download different games with Stripe to accept payment for games.

Challenges we ran into

We weren't game developers ourselves so we didn't have personal experience with the hardship of building and selling games. To understand our target market better, we spoke to Flip Benjamin, Head of Gaming at 88-ideas to better understand the troubles that game developers go through with current solutions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of and what we learned

Working with new tech stack like NextJS and Tailwind. We were honest with ourselves and gave ourselves deadlines and items to keep track of our progress.

Josh won the Knockout challenge!
