Inspiration

We got inspired by feeding ducks. ducks are cool, but chicks are better.

What it does

The Lens creates a flock of chicks that follows you around and bounce a lot.

How we built it

Using World Mesh and Physics Bodies, controlled by a flocking manager that keeps the birds together!

Challenges we ran into

It was super complicated. Shadow casting on world mesh was flaky so we removed it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We added the functionality to feed the chicks with popcorn

What we learned

We worked with collision bodies, physics, controlling blendshapes for the eyes, flocking behaviour.

What's next for BOUNCY CHICKS

We want to add more interactivity, for example make the flock follow you around. Other ideas could be to expand the flocking system and have them run away from you when you come too close. Long term vision, it could be gamified by adding a finish point and obstacles that would make the game challenging.
