BounceVerse
Inspiration
I've always loved trampoline parks, the weightlessness, the freedom, the pure joy of bouncing. But I can't always go to one. So I thought: What if I could bring that feeling to the browser? BounceVerse was born, a neon-drenched 3D trampoline park you can visit anytime.
What it does
BounceVerse is a scroll-driven 3D landing experience that takes visitors on a journey through a futuristic trampoline arena. It opens with white and blue cubes falling into view, then transitions into a full 3D view of the arena with neon lights and auto-rotating cubes. As you keep scrolling, geometric shapes rotate past, a trampoline appears with a ball bouncing on it, a top-down 3D view of the space follows, and it all wraps up with block-styled characters jumping on trampolines. It's less a traditional webpage and more a digital escape, a place to scroll, watch, and feel the bounce.
How we built it
Tools: Bolt.new (AI app builder), with Lovable and Replit as early attempts before switching to Bolt.
I built BounceVerse entirely through prompting, describing the scenes, animations, and visual style I wanted, and iterating with Bolt to get each section right: the falling cubes intro, the rotating neon arena, the geometric transitions, the bouncing trampoline ball, the top-down view, and the jumping characters. Bolt handled the underlying implementation, while I focused on prompt-crafting, refining the pacing of the scroll sequence, and giving feedback on lighting, color, and motion until it matched the vibe I was going for.
Challenges we ran into
- Physics performance: Bouncing balls, rotating geometry, and bloom together caused lag. Fixed by capping ball count and lowering bloom intensity.
- The credit wall: Ran out of credits on Lovable and Replit. Switched to Bolt.new as a free backup.
- Choreographing the scroll: Getting the falling cubes, rotation sequences, and camera-angle changes (arena view to top view) to feel smooth and connected as one continuous scroll, rather than a series of disconnected animations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- A fully functional, scroll-driven 3D scene running smoothly in the browser
- A multi-stage visual sequence: falling cubes then rotating arena to geometric shapes and bouncing trampoline ball, top-down view and finally jumping characters
- Realistic ball physics with neon glow
- Block-styled character animations that bring the arena to life
- Fully responsive design working on mobile
What we learned
- Physics engines need careful tuning — small changes make a big difference.
- A strong aesthetic can carry a project. The neon glow and layered scroll sequence create the biggest impact.
- Always have a backup platform when credits run out.
- Building in 3D is more accessible than ever with React Three Fiber.
What's next for BounceVerse
- Playable character — control a jumper on the trampoline
- Click to add more balls — more interaction
- Sound effects — satisfying bounce sounds
- Multiplayer — see others' balls bouncing together
- Customization — choose ball, cube, and trampoline colors
