Inspiration

A space for creators to own their content and control their funds.

The only true way for web3 mass adoption is through social media applications, not DeFi. DeFi doesn’t allow for new web3 user entrance due to friction and the bad stigma it has caused since the rampant domino collapse of Terra Luna. It is time to make a change and shift the narrative. The average internet user deserves access to the blockchain, and the knowledge to understand the power of decentralization.

We are here to make a change in the web3 space, and we would like to make that change on XRPL.

What it does

Allows creators to post permanent content and publish on the blockchain, receive payments via the blockchain, and sell their content on our marketplace. Every creator has their own social network that lives on the blockchain.

How we built it

React + Vite + AWS + XRPL

Challenges we ran into

XRP Wallet integration. We had to create a wallet on mainnet, buy funds on Coinbase, send those funds to Kucoin in order to buy XRP, then send that XRP to the newly created wallet. This is huge friction for any new XRPL user.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

That it works. And it’s on mainnet. We also are excited about the speed that the XRP Ledger handles for minting and how low the fees are. We believe these technological factors will without a doubt, set NFT minting on XRPL apart from all current chains. The only chains we have seen with this speed and capability on are Polygon and Avalanche, however their gas fees are relatively higher.

What we learned

XRP needs better wallet implementation. We are waiting on web3Auth to implement XRP and we can allow users to sign in through Google or other trusted third party platforms and create ghost wallets to use.

What's next for boulevard

Adding Marketplace features and converting an array of other creator tools we have published on EVM chains that are currently in beta testing on boulevard.social
