Bottle-Up

Inspiration

In this stressful world, getting a real friend to express/share about themselves has become a common problem. We hope to have a platform for people to communicate/express without anxiety.

What it does

This mobile chat application allows user to unroll their heart and express/share their real thoughts and emotions with strangers. In here, everyone could safely express themselves everything are anonymous.

How we built it

We adapt micro-service architecture while developing the application. Node.js and MongoDB as our backend while React-native is used for frontend development. Socket.io is also used at the backend to achieve a smooth chatting session.

Challenges we ran into

1. As we are 2 people groups, we have to distribute the work efficiently to make the project on time.
2. Having aligning the frontend with the design made on Figma.
3. Getting some unknown package error while setting up React-native for the first time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1. The application work smoothly with random friend testing
2. On frontend, we have achieve a chill design

What we learned

1. We have pushed our limit to debug and building a minimal workable application within a short time frame
2. Learned colour coordination while designing frontend.

What's next for Bottle-Up

1. Some of the feature could be added to achieve better user experience such has allowing user to rename their chatting
2. Getting more tester to get feedback and further improve our frontend and features
