Inspiration

Year ago with my friend "Zrng Mahdy" created a messenger bot for news and after that we decided to make another bot on messenger platform for language translation .

What it does

Our bot can translate between 104 languages Google Translate 103 Languages + Kurdish(Sorani) on messenger peoples don't need to install new apps for translation and they can use it in (Free basics service) that is free internet project from Facebook without downloading any new app and any language data.

How I built it

First we built it on free web hosting (000webhost.com) and later we transfered it to VPS when we are supported by (SK Group)

Challenges I ran into

First we used PHP to make the translation bot and we host it on 000webhost free we hosting after that when the bot is ready we shared on our facebook pages & groups, after 3 day we got near 3000 users without any paying for advertise our host dead soon and stopped working because it is free host with limited CPU Usage and our bot is php we decided to transfer to another free host and second free host stopped and third and........ in this time SK Group Supported us and we bought a 191$ VPS and we hosted our translation bot after a while we saw that PHP is very slow for our high requests to the bot we decided to rewrite the bot in NodeJS Language and we did it , after near one month we got 96000 users and we submitted our bot to FBStart and has been approved we transfered the bot fro 191$ VPS to FBStart's Amazon AWS Ec2 and till now on it , now we have more than 300K Users

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of my bot that have user over 30 countries and over 300k users that helped many peoples to translate , no want to install any app and no want storage and it an be used over FreeBasics Service From facebook.
