Inspiration
We wanted to solve the common problems in traditional recruitment, where recruiters spend a lot of time screening resumes and conducting interviews manually. We came up with BotBoss to make the hiring process faster, easier, and more efficient using AI.
What it does
BotBoss is an AI-powered recruitment platform that analyzes resumes, extracts candidate skills and experience, conducts AI-powered interviews, evaluates responses, and generates candidate reports. It also uses MediaPipe for basic interview proctoring to monitor eye movement and head position.
How we built it
We built BotBoss using React for the frontend, FastAPI for the backend, MongoDB Atlas for the database, Google Gemini for AI-based resume analysis and interview evaluation, MediaPipe for proctoring, and Brevo for email notifications.
Challenges we ran into
One of our main challenges was integrating AI, database, backend, frontend, and computer vision into one complete system. Creating adaptive interview questions and making the AI evaluation relevant to each candidate was also challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of building a complete recruitment platform that combines AI, computer vision, and automation in one system. BotBoss can take a candidate from resume submission to AI interview and final evaluation report.
What we learned
We learned how to integrate different technologies and APIs into a real-world application. We also gained practical experience in AI integration, backend development, database management, computer vision, and building an end-to-end software project.
What's next for BotBoss
We plan to improve the AI interview system, add more advanced proctoring features, improve candidate matching and ranking, and make the platform more scalable and accurate for real-world recruitment.
