Our Project is for the Hackathon division, and it focuses on creative yet innovative, providing solutions for real-world problems that tackle the problems mentioned in the outline of the hackathon. We are excited to present it and showcase how it aligns with the vision of the competition

We all love the idea of having lush, green plants around us, but let’s be real—keeping them alive is a whole different story! 😅 Between busy schedules, forgetfulness, and not knowing exactly what our plants need, taking care of them can feel challenging. While building this app, one thought has always lived in my mind—something as simple yet profound as caring for a plant.

If we overwater a plant, it rots and withers away. If we neglect it and give it no water at all, it dries up and dies. The secret to a thriving plant is balance—knowing when to nurture and when to let it grow on its own. 🌿✨ Isn’t life just the same? Whether it’s plants, relationships, or even personal growth, too much control can smother, and too little care can cause things to fade away. The key is mindful care—giving just the right amount, at the right time. And that’s exactly what Plant Care Dashboard is here for—to help you strike that perfect balance and watch your plants (and yourself) flourish! 🌱💚 That’s where the Plant Care Dashboard comes in! 🌱✨ This simple yet powerful tool helps plant lovers monitor their plant’s health, receive care reminders, and even track growth—all in one place!

Track Plant Heath : Monitor soil moisture, sunlight exposure, and temperature to ensure plants thrive.
Smart Care Reminders : Never forget to water or reposition your plants with timely alerts.
Growth Pair and Inaights : See your plants flourish over time with interactive charts and visuals.
Personalized Plant Management : Add your plants with images, types, and custom care needs.
IoT Integration (Optional) : Connect real-time soil, light, and temperature sensors for automated monitoring.

How We Built It

We kept things simple and effective to make plant care easy for everyone. Here’s the tech behind it:

Frontend : HTML, CSS (Tailwind), JavaScript for a sleek, responsive UI.
Backend: Python (Flask) for data management and reminders.
Database: SQLite / PostgreSQL / Firebase to store plant details and user preferences.
Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for care reminders. (TBD)
Hosting: Frontend on Netlify/Vercel, Backend on Heroku/AWS for smooth performance.

Challenges we ran into

Making plant tracking fun & engaging instead of just another boring tool.
Ensuring real-time updates for users with IoT sensors.
Creating a balance between automation and manual input for different types of users.
