Inspiration

When we entered this competition we were nervous of the challenges that would lie ahead, but with the warm welcome from the organizers and participants we were excited to try our best. After participating in the excellent Mercedes info-session, we decided to choose this challenge.

What it does

We are excited to try to create the best and most charismatic salesperson. With this mission in mind, Michael Salesman appeared! With our application it is possible to talk to Michael about purchasing a new car from Mercedes Benz. He will try to get to know you better and thus guide you in choosing the electric car that best fits your profile!

How we built it

For the implementation of the Chat Bot, we utilized the OpenAI assistants functionality. We used it's API and developed a backend with the Flask Python Framework. The frontend was idealized with React.js.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing the OpenAI assistant into our project was definitely the most challenging part. Specifically making it work as a single thread thus being capable of hold a conversation remembering what the customer said in previous messages.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Sticking to our plans and going through all the bugs and errors for only us to see it working at the end was truly magnificent. That's already a win in our books!

What we learned

We learned a lot in these 2 days. We finally understood a lot of things were previously unknown, from api implementation to how things really work with prompt builder!

What's next for Bot

In the future we hope to make it easier to access the bot and add additional features that did not fit the makeathon challenge.
