Inspiration 💡
The rise of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and their transformative impact on decision-making processes intrigued us. We saw an opportunity to advance the concept of decentralized governance by tackling the issue of reliance on Externally Owned Accounts (EOAs) to execute proposals. Patrick Collins's enlightening video on DAOs served as a key source of inspiration for us, shedding light on the possibilities and intricacies of these ground-breaking structures.
What It Does 🔍
Our project introduces a new approach to DAO governance by removing the need for an EOA to execute approved proposals. By integrating Chainlink's automation capabilities, our system allows DAO proposals to be automatically executed based on majority voting outcomes. This establishes a truly decentralized and automated governance system.
How We Built 🔩
Our project, built by studying the workings of DAOs, uses smart contracts created with Solidity and Hardhat. We integrated Chainlink's automation to create an autonomous system that no longer needs an EOA to execute approved proposals. The front-end, designed using Next.js and Thirdweb libraries for interactions with the smart contracts, offers a user-friendly experience we crafted in Figma. Despite challenges, we successfully developed a system that seamlessly combines Chainlink's automation with DAO governance.
Challenges We Ran Into 💪🏼
During the development process, we faced considerable challenges, particularly in understanding the operational mechanics of DAOs and how to automate them effectively. The complexity of DAOs required us to dive deep into their working principles, and translating these decentralized processes into an automated system proved to be a difficult task. Ensuring that our system was both secure and reliable while maintaining the autonomous nature of DAOs was a top priority. This required rigorous testing and multiple iterations, presenting us with a steep learning curve but also an opportunity to deepen our understanding of DAO governance.
Accomplishments That We’re Proud Of 🌟
We're incredibly proud of several key accomplishments in this project. First, we've managed to deeply understand the working mechanics of DAOs, a complex and innovative area in the blockchain space. This understanding was fundamental in enabling us to innovate effectively. Second, we've successfully used Chainlink's automation features to revolutionize DAO governance. Not only have we removed the need for an EOA, but we've also established a system that is truly autonomous and decentralized. The synthesis of these achievements marks a significant step forward in the evolution of DAOs.

We plan to evolve our project from its current sample DAO state to a fully-functional DAO, incorporating additional features that will enhance its usability and effectiveness.
Looking further ahead, we're excited about the potential applications of our project. The ultimate aim is to deploy our DAO on the mainnet, taking the leap from a conceptual model to a real-world application. We believe that this step will mark a significant advancement in DAO governance and look forward to the journey ahead.
