Inspiration

Millions of small businesses still rely on notebooks, spreadsheets, or disconnected tools to manage sales and inventory. This often leads to stock shortages, inaccurate records, and wasted time. We wanted to build a simple, modern solution that gives shop owners everything they need in one place without requiring technical expertise.

What it does

BoothSync is a smart Point-of-Sale (POS) and inventory management platform designed for small businesses. It allows merchants to:

  • Process sales quickly
  • Track inventory in real time
  • Generate digital receipts
  • Monitor revenue through an analytics dashboard
  • Receive low-stock alerts
  • Manage products from a clean, intuitive interface

Our goal is to simplify business operations so owners can spend less time managing inventory and more time growing their business.

How we built it

We built BoothSync using a modern web stack with Base44 as the application platform. The app combines responsive UI components, database integration, authentication, and real-time inventory updates into a seamless experience. We focused on usability, fast workflows, and a clean interface suitable for both desktop and mobile devices.

Challenges we ran into

  • Designing an interface that remains simple while offering powerful features.
  • Keeping inventory synchronized after every transaction.
  • Creating dashboards that are informative without overwhelming users.
  • Building a polished MVP within a limited hackathon timeframe.

What we learned

This project reinforced the importance of user-centered design. We learned how to balance functionality with simplicity, prioritize features under time constraints, and rapidly iterate based on testing. We also gained experience building a production-style business application using modern no-code/low-code tools alongside custom logic.
