Boota's Cuisine

The food industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors globally. However, managing an offline business can sometimes be overwhelming. This challenge sparked an idea, and Boota's Cuisine was born.

Boota's Cuisine is a web app designed to help you manage your offline food business efficiently, without any extra hassle. All your products are listed on the app, allowing users to easily browse, select their desired items, and place orders. Moreover, our web app features a bot that assists users in placing orders or finding the best options tailored to their preferences.

Inspiration

The inspiration for Boota's Cuisine came from witnessing the challenges faced by local food businesses in managing orders and customer interactions. We wanted to create a solution that would streamline these processes and make it easier for business owners to focus on what they do best—cooking delicious food. By leveraging technology, we aimed to bridge the gap between traditional offline businesses and the digital world.

What it does

Boota's Cuisine simplifies the management of offline food businesses by providing a comprehensive platform where:

All products are listed for easy browsing by customers. Users can place orders directly through the app. A bot assists users in placing orders or finding the best options based on their preferences.

How we built it

We built Boota's Cuisine using the following technologies:

• Frontend: NextJS, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and Shadcn UI for a responsive and user-friendly interface.
• Backend: Node.js to handle server-side operations and API requests.
• Database: Postgresql and Drizzle ORM for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Bot Integration: We incorporated a chatbot using OpenAI to enhance user interaction and assist with order placement.

Challenges we ran into

Throughout the development process, we faced several challenges:

• Integrating the Bot : Ensuring seamless interaction between the bot and the user interface was tricky and required extensive testing and debugging.
• User Experience : Designing an intuitive user interface that caters to both tech-savvy users and those less familiar with technology was a delicate balance.
• Data Management : Efficiently managing and securing user and order data was paramount, necessitating robust backend solutions and stringent security measures.
