💡 Inspiration
As a student, I often noticed how difficult it is to stay focused and motivated while also dealing with stress and mental overload.
Most productivity tools focus only on tasks, while mental wellness apps focus only on emotions — rarely both together.
I wanted to build something that supports students emotionally and productively at the same time.
That idea became BoostMe.
🛠️ What I Built
BoostMe is an AI-powered web application designed specifically for students to balance productivity and mental wellness in one place.
The platform includes:
- An AI Chat Buddy where users can vent, seek motivation, and feel heard.
- A Focus mode with customizable timers, live UI updates, and sound alerts to build momentum.
- A Chill zone with stress-relief interactions like pop-it activities, venting tools, and calming exercises.
- A set of AI-powered student tools such as Study Helper, Writing Assistant, Idea Generator, and Dev Helper.
- A dashboard with visual insights that reflects user activity and engagement.
- Secure chat and tool history, accessible after login, ensuring privacy and continuity.
The entire experience is designed to be simple, mobile-friendly, and distraction-free.
⚙️ How I Built It
BoostMe was built using:
- HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend.
- Supabase for authentication and data persistence.
- A fully deployed web setup so the product can be accessed online.
Special focus was given to:
- Clean UI and intuitive navigation
- Student-friendly design with minimal friction
- Honest and practical AI interactions instead of over-complicated features

📚 What I Learned
Through this project, I learned:
- How to design user experiences that consider both mental wellness and productivity
- Managing application state and UI updates for real-time features like timers
- Integrating authentication and securely handling user data
- Structuring a project end-to-end — from idea to deployment and demo
This project also helped me improve my product thinking, not just coding.
🚧 Challenges Faced
Some challenges I faced during development included:
- Designing features that felt supportive without being overwhelming
- Handling authentication flows while keeping the user experience smooth
- Balancing multiple features without cluttering the interface
- Ensuring the application remained lightweight and responsive
Each challenge helped me refine the product and focus on what truly adds value for students.
🌱 Future Scope
In the future, BoostMe can be extended with:
- Deeper personalization based on usage patterns
- Voice-based AI interactions
- A dedicated mobile application
- More detailed insights and customization options
