Inspiration

We've all been there: a day full of good intentions, but at the end, you realize you drifted, lost focus, and barely scratched the surface of your goals. This personal frustration with poor time management, a lack of consistent focus, and slipping discipline was the spark for Boosterous.app. We wanted to build a tool that doesn't just list tasks, but actively helps you design a productive day, stick to it, and ultimately, achieve your ambitions. We envision a future where everyone can master their time and reach their full potential.

What it does

Boosterous.app is your all-in-one personal productivity co-pilot designed to help you plan your productive day, diligently track your time, and ensure you stick to your commitments. It's built for anyone who wants to take control of their schedule, eliminate distractions, and maximize their output. Users can easily map out their daily activities, log the time spent on each task, and get clear visual feedback on their adherence to the plan. Our intuitive interface makes it simple to see where your time goes, helping you stay disciplined and focused on what truly matters.

How we built it

We built Boosterous.app using a modern and robust tech stack to ensure a responsive, scalable, and secure application. The frontend is powered by React and TypeScript, providing a dynamic and type-safe user experience, beautifully styled with Tailwind CSS for a clean, intuitive UI. On the backend, we leveraged Node.js for its efficiency and scalability. For our database and authentication, we chose Supabase, which offered a powerful and developer-friendly PostgreSQL database with built-in authentication, allowing us to focus on core features rather than infrastructure.

Challenges we ran into

One of our primary challenges was ensuring the UI/UX was genuinely intuitive and non-intrusive for users. Productivity apps can often feel overwhelming, and we were determined to create a clean, minimalist experience that seamlessly integrates into a user's workflow rather than becoming another distraction. This involved numerous iterations on design, careful consideration of user flows, and continuous testing to balance powerful features with elegant simplicity. Making the act of planning and tracking feel natural and even enjoyable was a significant hurdle we embraced.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're incredibly proud of creating a seamless and highly responsive user interface that makes daily planning and time tracking surprisingly effortless. Beyond the aesthetics, we're particularly proud of developing the core time-tracking logic that accurately captures user activity and provides immediate, actionable feedback on their progress against their daily plan. Getting to a point where a user can intuitively plan their day, start tracking, and immediately see their adherence has been a major accomplishment.

What we learned

Throughout this hackathon, we learned the immense value of user-centric design and relentless iteration. While the technical implementation was challenging, understanding how real users would interact with a productivity tool, and then simplifying complex processes into intuitive actions, was paramount. We also deepened our understanding of integrating various modern web technologies to create a cohesive and performant application.

What's next for boosterous.app - Your Daily Planner

The future of Boosterous.app is incredibly exciting! Our immediate next steps include integrating an LLM/AI as a "success coach." This AI will proactively remind users to stay focused on achieving their productive day, offer insights based on their patterns, and provide gentle nudges to keep them on track. Beyond that, our big vision is to build native mobile versions for iOS and Android, ensuring that Boosterous.app is always accessible, no matter where your productive day takes you.
