Inspiration

Boop Bot Hoverbound was inspired by CU Hacking, with Boop Bot and the black-and-purple color scheme creating the foundation for the game's identity. We wanted to turn that inspiration into a unique futuristic racing experience.

What it does

Boop Bot Hoverbound is a fast-paced futuristic hover racing game featuring boosts, jumps, and competitive split-screen multiplayer. Players race through sci-fi environments with responsive arcade-style controls.

How we built it

We built the game using Godot, creating custom movement systems, hover physics, racing mechanics, split-screen multiplayer, and interactive gameplay features. The game also includes handcrafted artwork, custom environments, and original music to create a unique futuristic atmosphere.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was creating smooth hover movement and making the controls feel responsive while still maintaining a fun arcade racing style. We also had to overcome challenges with implementing split-screen multiplayer, physics interactions, sound effects, and balancing the gameplay.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a complete playable racing experience with custom mechanics, original art, music, and a unique visual identity. Building a futuristic racer from scratch with multiplayer support was a major achievement for our team.

What we learned

Throughout development, we learned more about game design, physics systems, player movement, teamwork, and how to turn an idea into a finished playable experience. We also improved our skills in Godot and collaborative development.

What's next for Boop Bot Hoverbound

We hope to continue improving Boop Bot Hoverbound by adding more tracks, characters, customization options, and gameplay features. We want to expand the world and create an even more exciting racing experience for players.
