Terrible DJs (specifically at DoCSoc bar nights) - they don't play the Macarena :'(

You can either create a party or join a party. Once you've joined, you instantly become a speaker for the party.

You may upvote songs on the current song queue, or add any song from YouTube to the queue.

Songs at the top of the queue are chosen to be played.

Using NodeJS and VueJS, Socket.IO, MongoDB, Timesync and Surge.sh.

Syncing everything to be played at the same time.

Working with technologies we hadn't used before and getting the synchronisation very close to perfect.

Don't use NodeJS. Syncing is difficult.

Improve styling and refactor our messy hackathon code.

I worked on full stack development, between the front-end and the backend implementing various functionalities in Node.js like streaming videos and extracting the sound on the backend to fetch and preload on the frontend or have a master clock from the backend to the frontend for synchronisation

I worked largely on the Node.js backend, working with a MongoDB database to keep track of synchronisation, playlists and users . I also did some work on the front end, integrating it with the YouTube API to allow users to search for songs.
