Inspiration
Our original inspiration came from...
What it does
There are multiple functions imeplemented onto the rover, including:
- Alarm Clock & Timer - can be turned on and off
- Light Detection - determines whether your home is too bright or dim
- Infared Movement Detector - saves energy by keeping on idle when nobody is around
- Computer controller movement (We couldn't get bluetooth to work sadly) ## How we built it We tested multiple components, only keeping those that greatly enhance the device's accessibility. We started with the car and built up. ## Challenges we ran into We encountered significant hardware issues initially, with the LCD display failing to function for the first five hours before inexplicably coming to life. Despite this, we still face challenges, such as the inability to display the current time and persistent Bluetooth connectivity issues preventing wireless control of the car. ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
- First hackathon for 3 of us!
- Actually submitting a project that we're proud of.
- Staying up all night to work on the project. ## What we learned We gained extensive hands-on experience working with electronic parts and assembling the rover. Integrating the mechanical components of the vehicle with the smart home technology proved particularly challenging. We encountered numerous debugging hurdles and had to exercise patience as many components were uncooperative. Interestingly, we found ourselves applying concepts learned in the classroom, such as Ohm's Law, to troubleshoot effectively. ## What's next for Boomba GO PUBLIC :)
