Inspiration

We wanted to explore what happens when AI characters become living art—tiny autonomous beings that wander across websites, interact with users, and evolve unique personalities through conversation.

What it does

BookMarkletMan AI Agent injects interactive, AI-driven characters into any webpage. Each one has a distinct voice, memory, and personality—able to see, talk, and respond independently.

How we built it

We used the Chrome Prompt API, Speech Recognition, and Speech Synthesis to create self-contained agents. Each figure has its own local AI session, memory, and visual sprite rendered on an HTML canvas.

Challenges we ran into

Building isolated AI sessions for each agent was tricky. Keeping speech, animation, and conversation running in sync across different sites required careful handling of async APIs and browser restrictions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We brought autonomous AI life into the browser without any backend. Every character truly feels unique—an emergent digital being with a personality, background, and voice of its own.

What we learned

AI becomes more meaningful when it’s embodied and interactive. Giving personality and presence to algorithms turns simple code into something poetic, unpredictable, and alive.

What's next for BookMarkletMan AI Agent

We plan to expand the ecosystem—allowing users to create, share, and trade AI figures, form small societies, and turn the web into a living stage for generative art.
