Inspiration

Sarah, a team member who is into theatre, wanted to build a website based on finding upcoming shows for plays and musicals.

What it does

This website helps people find upcoming shows for plays and musicals while making sure there are tickets available to buy and reserve them.

How we built it

We used Figma for the rough draft of the website, NicePage for the CSS, HTML, and Javascript, then Flask & Twilio for the back end.

Challenges we ran into

Two members became busy overtime and so the other half had to do what could be done at a reasonable time for two people.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to successfully set up Twilio's messaging and being able to create a website that has a nice aesthetic using NicePage.

What we learned

We learned how to use NicePage for the front end and Twilio & Flask for the backend.

What's next for BookIt

Due to time constrictions, we hope to implement a ticket finding system, finding shows near a person's proximity, and an actual subscription page so those who follow could gain access to special offers and more!
