💫 Inspiration

Current library websites and social reading applications can be quite outdated. Our application tries to improve the lack of focus on social interaction, community forums and discussion. Our design is simple and easier to navigate giving a different experience for readers and non-readers.

💫 What it does

Users can share their books with friends or a community, join book clubs and discussion forums, and use personalized recommendations and book shelves. Also, they can track their reading habits with a personalized reading tracker and reading reminders to positively improve their reading. Other features are syncing your library and user review & ratings.

💫 How we built it

We used Google Forums to collect survey responses for user research. Figma was used to built the prototype and JavaScript, CSS, & Next.js were languages & tech used to build the web application.

💫 Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to find participants for our survey, however we managed to collect some thanks to social forums/communities.

💫 Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our Figma prototype was built and we collaborated effectively as a team by narrowing down features for our app.

💫 What we learned

We learned how to collaborate and improve older designs by considering how our design and decisions would impact our users.

💫 What's next for BookConnect

We'd like to publish this application so it may be used by everyone!
