Inspiration

I love going to a library and choosing books, but never untill this Hackathon and it's futuristic theme did I think of taking that to a whole new level!

What it does

Automates libraries using robots!

How we built it

Imagine, plan, design, and code! I imagined a futuristic library that is run by a robotic librarian. Then I made the sprites for the visitors. I upgraded images from "Scratch" and "Pixabay". I used a lot of Broadcast messages and also used text-to-speech to make the sprites talk.

Challenges we ran into

I had a hard time on the "Click me to Browse books!" sign because I was trying to use the 'say' block. But then I figured that I should make it as a sprite.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I feel like I accomplished imagining a library of the future and adding the features that follow the theme of Futurehacks

What we learned

I learned to persist rather than give up on projects, and finish a project with pressure and a fixed time limit.

What's next for BookBot - The Robotic Librarian

Add more features (e.g. books, interactions, games) and engage users interactively using "Sprites" and "Code" to create an experience of the futuristic library. I would like to learn Scratch AI and add it to the project.
