Book Recommendation System

Inspiration

I am always in a dilemma regarding which book to read and ask my friends for recommendations. One day I thought why not build a system that will recommend books to me? And I made this Book Recommendation System.

What it does

It chooses one book from the database randomly, and then recommends top 5 books to the user based on the similarity between the randomly chosen book and other books. It also shows which book it picked while recommending.

How I built it

I built it using the programming language python. The libraries used were scipy and sparse module.

Challenges I ran into

creating a user interaction matrix.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of making this system and getting certified by IBM for this.

What I learned

I learned many concepts in journey like csr matrix, cosine similarity, scipy library, etc.
