Inspiration

Book Bliss came from the idea of making a cool app where you can easily check out different book covers and find new reads in a fun way.

What it does

Book Bliss lets you swipe through lots of book covers in a row. It's a simple way to see different books and find something that catches your eye.

How we built it

I made Book Bliss using React Native and integrated the Google Books API to search and display books. I also used a scrolling feature to show the book covers one after another. The app uses images from the internet and those stored right in the project.

Challenges we ran into

Making sure the API is integrated and works as per our requirement was little challenging. Also, getting the local images to display correctly in the app took some effort.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am happy that I learnt React Native from basics to build this project and integrated Google Books API in Book Bliss. Making it easy for users to search and glide through book covers was a big win indeed.

What we learned

While working on Book Bliss, I learned how to manage API calls and images in React Native and make sure they show up well. I also got to fix many bugs and better at making apps run smoothly.

What's next for Book Bliss: Find your favourite book

In the future, I would like to add a feature where users can read pages of the book pdf on the app itself. Plus, I aim to make it even more engaging for users to explore and discover new reads.
