My inspiration for this project comes from my desire to create something enjoyable and educational for my nephews. Seeing how much they love stories and how AI can enhance creativity, I aimed to build an app that is both fun and engaging.

How we built it

I developed Book AI: Story Generator using a combination of advanced technologies to deliver a seamless and engaging experience. Here’s how we built it:

  • In-App Purchases: Integrated RevenueCat for straightforward monetization through seamless in-app purchases.
  • Backend Architecture: Employed a Serverless Architecture on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3) for scalable and efficient backend operations.
  • Authentication: Implemented Clerk for secure and user-friendly authentication processes.
  • Offline Storage: Used SQLite to enable offline story storage, so users can enjoy their stories without an internet connection.
  • AI Integration: Leveraged OpenAI's API with GPT-4o-mini to generate immersive stories and vivid images, enhancing creativity and engagement.
