🥗 Inspiration
Eating out always involves making decisions, so Bon Appétit strives to provide a simple, customizable experience to the user. Furthermore, in our experience, friends and family have certain dietary needs and/or needed accommodations for restaurant service. We wanted to make a web app that helps people get the best experience finding restaurants.
🍱 What it does
Eating made simple: The user sets up their preferences based on dietary categories, price range, and accommodation needs, which are then applied to every search.
🍝 How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and the Yelp Fusion API to create the web app.
☕ Challenges we ran into
We will continue working on the Yelp API to fix the CORS error that shows up.
🌮 Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Using CSS and JavaScript to make our page dynamic
- Creating an autocomplete search bar
🍛 What we learned
- Front end development, especially JavaScript and APIs
- Teamwork!
🍨 What's next for Bon Appétit
- In the future, we hope to enhance the customization features and set up a server and database. We hope the website can help accommodate everyone’s eating needs and help bring people closer together through meals!
