Inspiration

We were inspired by our desire to pass classes without attending lectures.

What it does

This app allows people to add typed notes to a specific course for a specific college. Although, right now and for the foreseeable future, only Purdue courses are searchable. Anyone can add and edit notes to any class. This is requires cooperation and good will to succeed.

How we built it

React frontend

Firebase firestore to store notes for each course and week.

An express web service hosted on azure is used to provide a uniform api for different college's course api's (although only the Purdue course api works so....)

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out how to use new technologies took a lot of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have a functional project and we survived.

What we learned

Too much.

What's next for Note Thing

Look into integrating other colleges, so this is not just a Purdue thing.
