Inspiration
We had an inside joke about a monkey named Bobo and thought it would be fun to make a video game about him.
What it does
It is a video game where you play as a monkey named bobo whose habitat is being destroyed by evil lumberjacks. The goal is to fight these lumberjacks.
How we built it
We built it in the IDE "BlueJ" completely from scratch. We coded in java. We coded Bobo's character and motion as well as the motion of the idle lumberjack.
Challenges we ran into
importing images was difficult, so we ended up having to code our graphics for Bobo manually through java's paintcomponent
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really proud of the fact that we were able to create a game entirely from scratch with no prior game development knowledge.
What we learned
Aali - this was my first time using java and I was able to learn on the fly and even contributed by writing important code for the product in java Arav - I have always had issues with coding big projects because it is hard for me to integrate classes with one another, but after today I feel like I am much better at that.
What's next for Bobo Takes Back the Jungle!
We already have a soundtrack that we produced on the IOS app Garageband that we are planning on implementing in the game. We also want to add more levels and upgrade the graphics.
