Inspiration
For this project we were really inspired by this hit game called Baba is You, another block pushing game, that went viral because of just how creative of a solution you could create just with what the levels gave you. I wanted to go for a more retro and pixelated vibes with this game as to why I designed it that way.
How we built it
We built the game using the Unity game engine and coded it with their supported language c#. We took many hours to research what makes his games special and tried to capture the same atmosphere within our own.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges that we ran into were the making of the levels of the puzzle since we were still semi new to creating puzzles. So we searched through the internet to find articles and such to really learn and figure out why they puzzles work and what makes them challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Accomplishments that we are proud of were being about to learn and create my own animations for the visuals and also the sheer amount of levels we were able to create in this timespan.
What we learned
We learned that Unity and C# are quite hard and complex to learn in such a short time span.
What's next for Bobo and Popo
The next thing for Bobo and Popo is to be judged and rated for the SFSU Competitive Game Jam happening at the same time.
