Inspiration

I've always felt something quietly joyful about cooking and restaurant games. So why not build that feeling around boba tea? Most tycoons eventually become a race for efficiency. I wanted to create something different: a game where deciding what to sell is just as important as serving it quickly. That's where exploration came in. Instead of unlocking ingredients from a menu, you discover them in the world, then build today's menu around what you've found. The result is a blend of exploration, collection, and fast-paced drink crafting.

What it does

Boba Tycoon is a simulation game about growing a boba business from a single truck into an empire. Each in-game day has two phases. During Explore, you walk the neighborhood, forage ingredients, and gather tips from locals. During Serve, you open the truck and rush between stations to brew tea, add toppings, and fulfill orders under pressure. As your business grows, you can travel to new regions, discover specialty ingredients, create unique menus, and serve increasingly demanding customers.

How we built it

Visual assets were generated with ChatGPT and refined in Photoshop.

Challenges we ran into

Finding the right balance between menu planning, exploration, and fast-paced drink making.

What we learned

Players don't need endless content—they need a satisfying loop, meaningful choices, and a reason to come back for one more day.
