Inspiration
Originating from Taiwan in the 1980s, bubble tea has since taken over the world by storm. With so many different flavours and toppings, its hard to resist a refreshing cup of bubble tea, but we often overlook the amount of calories in the drink. Especially since almost every boba store allows customers to customize their drinks, adding toppings and extra sugar could easily cause the calories to stack up. So while we get a refreshing treat, we also stay oblivious to its negative impact on our health.
Therefore, our team has created bobaTracks, a calorie tracker that lets a consumer know if their drink is over the average amount of calories in a bubble tea drink.
What it does
Upon reaching the website, you can see a display that shows the current average amount of calories in a boba drink. Underneath, it will also display the total amount of calories in the boba drink that you’ve ordered. You can find out how many calories are in a bubble tea, by clicking the “Make my bubble tea” button, which will then ask for your bubble tea order. Once you have selected your drink, toppings, and sweetness level; click done and a pop-up may occur which will warn you that your drink is over the average amount of calories. Otherwise, our website will tell you to enjoy your bubble tea and show you whether your drink is above or below the average amount.
