We want to help the 20 million patients struggling with wrist fractures recover in a gamified environment at home, improving upon traditional recovery methods while taking some of the burden off the physicians. We built a novel gyroscopic controller to restrict wrist movement only to the motions useful for therapy and used the motions of therapy exercises to guide a flight videogame in VR. The VR module has been modified to integrate a camera with facial imaging software to isolate if a patient is abnormally struggling on the task, in which case vibrational feedback tells the user to caution themselves against injury. Between language communications, complicated print times, and needing to learn blender we successfully created our first prototype and look forward to integrating with healthcare.
