Inspiration
This game is based off of Restaurant Tycoon.
What it does
Work at Bob's Diner: Take Orders, Cook Delicious Food And Serve The Customers. All while escaping from a demonoid creature.
How we built it
I built it using scratch.
Challenges we ran into
One of the most annoying problems was fixing bugs that shouldn't logically exist but still existed. Debugging was especially hard because you had to find the code from the interactions (No output or terminal), then either find out and fix the bug or just come up with a fix that doesn't break the rest of the code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Coming up with the map. I'm really not an artist and drawing these graphics and images isn't something I do. This hackathon and this project really helped me understand the skills i was lacking if not made them better.
What we learned
While some argue that no code programing isn't hacking, it actually helped me understand that it is much harder to do something when you have something like codeblocks whose functionality is fixed(unlike real coding with which possibilities are limitless) and thereby improve my logical problem solving ability.
What's next for Bob's Diner
There's so much I can do with Bob's Diner and in the near distant future, Bob's Diner might turn from a simple clicking game to an actual cooking simulator.
