Inspiration

Our inspiration for Bob's Business, comes from each of our experiences with business and finance. As members of DECA and FBLA business clubs, we all have a strong background in finances. However, we wanted to build something that was useful, that had an impact. Bob's Business is not just an app, its an aid. Small, local, start-up and even large business can use our app to understand their backsets in their finances, and their next steps for growth.

What it does

Bob's Business is a financial portfolio that shows, the health score, the annual revenue, the monthly expenses, and the cash flow. It also shows the past history of the company's revenue as well as its future AI forecast for the next year, month by month. With the AI-Chatbot and the What-If simulator, businesses can understand and recognize what they need to do in order to thrive as a business and raise their health score.

How we built it

We built it using TypeScript, CSS, HTML and react. Our front end was done firstly, roughly in 4 to 6 hours. While the backend proved to be more of an issue, causing us to spend 8 to 10 hours. Overall, by combining both front end and backend and fine tuning, we built Bob's Business

Challenges we ran into

A key challenge we ran into is our live share on VS Code was not working; thus, we were not able to work simultaneously on the program. However, we were able to overcome this issue by reassigning roles to our team. We learned to work individually yet collaborate together. By working on specific features, and specific aspects separately, we formed the final product by combining all that we had.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our final project as a whole. Bob's business was ignited from single, simple idea, and now it has become a reality. Small and startup businesses can actually use our application in order to recognize their current financial status and learn a means to improve it.

What we learned

We as a team learned how to operate different technology, such as Type Script and how to integrate our own AI chatbot in to the app. Our on the spot learning, aided us in the creation of this application, and our quick thinking got us far.

What's next for Bob's Businesses

Bob's Businesses hopes to expand its target audience by adding more helpful features, a more complex user interface and integrating new ideas into our app. We want Bob's business to be the light in the dark for both businesses that grow and decline.
