BMI Calculator

Inspiration

We were inspired to make something none of us had ever made before, using new languages.

What it does

It calculates a person's BMI using their inputted height and weight, and then tells the user whether they are underweight, a healthy weight, overweight, or obese.

How we built it

We used online tutorials and help from mentors to learn basic HTML, javascript, and CSS to write this program.

Challenges we ran into

We struggled because we didnt know any HTML, javascript, or CSS, so we had to learn how to use them.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the amount of detail we put into the program, and we even managed to go above and beyond to color certain text using CSS.

What we learned

We learned basic problem solving, cooperation, and we learned the basics of new programming languages.

What's next for BMI Calculator

We may improve it in the future once we further learn these new languages.

I came up with the general idea of how we should work on our project in Visual Studio Code and in an HTML file. I managed our team while not having too much experience myself, so I learned a lot by challenging myself like this.

I programmed the front end while researching HTML and CSS. I integrated JavaScript as well to preform the calculations necessary.

I organized brainstorming as well as facilitated contact with project mentors. I worked front end for a little bit as well.
