Inspiration
I remember waiting on a package for my friend's birthday a few years back. Coincidentally, I recieved an email from UPS detailing how they lost my package and providing a link. I clicked on it and it prompted me to enter my information. With no way to tell it was actually a phishing website, I almost put in my information before remembering my package should be delivered by amazon and not UPS. I thought back to this story when thinking about the issue I want my chatbot to address.
What it does
- Chats with the user about web safety
- Checks the safety rating of websites
How I built it
Since I am a beginner, my code was very simple. It consists of 1 method that grabs the saftey rating from Web of Trust , and the main method which promps the user!
Challenges I ran into
Honestly, my biggest challenge was mixing up python with java and sorting the data that my method accessed!
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- Designing such a cute puffer!
- Submitting my first hackathon project!
What I learned
The power that AI and Datasience can have for good even if simple!
