Inspiration

Music is an extremely powerful tool for stories and Instagram Reels, besides being something that motivates me a lot to be creative. So I wanted to create an interactive and customizable filter by the users so that they could interact with the music and create light effects synchronized to the beat.

What it does

This effect asks the user to choose any song from library and creates contours and light effects synchronized with the music while music notes appears as they blink. The lights and contours alternate according to the rhythm of the chosen song.

How I built it

The effect was created with camera segmentation and particle emission in Spark AR. I replicated the contours of the user and selected the colors to switch, I also defined particles to be emitted as musical notes when the user blinks and the rotation of the light to rotate confronts the music.

Challenges I ran into

I had to find out how to synchronize a song in the library with the effects I selected, in addition to discovering the look I would like to apply to the effect and how to make the general idea work.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I managed to turn my idea into the expected effect and make the experience interactive and fun.

What I learned

How to multiply the segmentation and how to make the effect interact with the music selected by the user.

What's next for Blue Tunes

I would be very happy to see users from different places using the personalized effect according to the chosen song and generating new content from my creation.
