BluClass — Reimagining the Interactive Classroom Education has evolved dramatically over the past century—but the classroom hasn't. Students still spend much of their time sitting, listening, taking notes, and completing assignments on paper. Asking questions can feel intimidating, participation is difficult to measure, and homework often becomes something students finish rather than something they experience. We asked ourselves: What if the classroom could respond to students instead of students only responding to the classroom? BluClass transforms traditional classrooms into interactive learning environments using devices schools already own. By mounting an iPhone at the front of the classroom, BluClass leverages Apple's body tracking technology to understand student movement and synchronize it with a classroom Apple TV. The result is a classroom where students physically, verbally, and collaboratively interact with lessons.
BluClass uses SGA-AR to enable collaborative spatial learning. Multiple students can view the same virtual object, annotate it together, manipulate simulations, and solve problems in a shared augmented reality experience, bringing group learning beyond the limits of a traditional classroom.
