Inspiration
Trip to Switzerland, where we were bored on the train so we came up with few ideas how to make (not only) train trips less boring
What it does
Well, app is unfortunately not working, we have to learn on our mistakes. But the plan was to create couple of features that will allow users to get to know people on the same route or on the same train as they are, get to chat with a guide, about any information and may order food there. We wanted to make a separate text channel dedicated to each train where the guides can write announcements for passengers. WE wanted to make an affiliate program based on points gained for inviting people to create a profile in BLS app and inviting them on a group journey. For those points, customers can buy discounted tickets. The last thing
How we built it
PWA built with ReactJS with MaterialUI components on FE, Expressjs on BE, SQLite as DB
Challenges we ran into
Not correctly choosing challenge fast enough, not realizing that we don't need docker, not having access to BLS app through our foreign phones.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making a worthy idea that can be used IRL
What we learned
Working with BE, improved redux knowledge, docker containers, working with postman, communicating with team. web sockets, SQLite
What's next for BLS new app features
Make it work, make working FE and connect it to existing BE
Built With
- express.js
- materialui
- pwa
- react
- socket.io
- sqlite
