The Experience: Kitchen Chaos "BLOW UP THE CUSTOMER(WHIT PIZZA)" is an intense, fast-paced culinary challenge built specifically for the Meta Horizon Mobile Innovation track. Players step into a high-pressure kitchen where the goal is simple but stressful: cook perfectly baked pizzas and deliver them to impatient customers before the timer hits zero. The "Blow UP!" in the title signifies the explosive pressure of the kitchen timer—if you don't meet your delivery quota, your chef dreams go up in smoke!
My Journey & Motivation Beyond just creating a fun game, this project represents a significant step in my personal and professional growth. I saw this competition as a unique opportunity to challenge myself and gain real-world development experience. As I prepare to apply to a top university for an engineering degree, I wanted to build something that proves my dedication to learning and adapting to new technologies. Meta Horizon offered the perfect platform to test my skills, and building this world has given me invaluable experience that I hope will pave the way for my future academic career.
How I Built It & Challenges My primary focus for the mobile track was balancing a detailed environment with high performance. I had to optimize assets heavily to ensure smooth frame rates on mobile processors. Technically, I focused on scripting responsive interaction design so cooking feels intuitive on handheld devices. I implemented a robust state machine script to track successful deliveries versus the unforgiving countdown timer, ensuring the win/loss conditions trigger correctly under pressure.
Future Plans I intend to expand the chaos with a co-op multiplayer mode, where friends must coordinate cooking and delivering together. I also plan to add power-ups and a global leaderboard. This project is just the beginning of my journey in the Metaverse!
