Inspiration

The concept of an exchange without a central institution seemed very interesting to us. Besides, the concept of a matching algorithm, which saves the hour long search to find something that suits the needs of both parties of the transaction.

What it does

PokéChange is an iOS application where people can trade their Pokemon cards on an exchange market.

How we built it

For the backend, we used Kotlin, and SpringBoot, MySQL, Swagger. For the frontend, we used Swift and SwiftUI.

Challenges we ran into

Coming up with a good optimized system architecture for our system.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A functioning backend and an appealing iOS application. We also built a very strong team spirit, which helped us to push through the long hours of work.

What we learned

We learned how to create a Pokémon exchange from scratch and a matching system to match outstanding orders.

What's next for Bloomberg Challenge

Visualising trends and statistics of past matches. Also use this to make suitable recommendations.
