Inspiration

We wanted to change how ambitious women think about and work toward their life goals. Many productivity apps feel like boring to-do lists or disconnected tools that make growth feel like work instead of progress.

So we built Bloom as a simple “life system” that brings together money learning, travel memories, and vision boards in one place. It grows with you as your goals and experiences change.

What it does

Bloom is a highly customizable, all-in-one personal growth companion that gamifies your entire life journey.

🌱 Digital Garden (Core Experience) Bloom turns daily habits into a living garden. Instead of boring streak numbers, your garden grows when you stay consistent. Miss days, and growth slows. Keep showing up, and your space becomes greener, fuller, and more alive - making progress something you can actually see.

🎯 Vision Boarding & Dreams Create unlimited “Dreams” with deadlines, progress bars, and images. Each dream helps you clearly picture what you’re working toward and track how far you’ve come.

💰 She Stacks Arcade Learn money skills through a suite if 11 bite-sized mini-games like Wealth Garden, Money Flow, and Tax Waterfall. These games make budgeting, investing, and negotiation easier to understand - and fun to play.

📚 Curated Reads & Audiobooks A handpicked library of short reads on money, mindset, and personal growth. Prefer listening? Switch to audiobook mode and learn on the go - during walks, workouts, or breaks 🎧✨

🌍 Share your Journey An interactive 3D world map where you pin trips, upload photos, and track the countries you’ve visited. Your travel memories turn into a growing personal map - and you can share selected trips with the community to inspire others and explore the world together ✨

📓 Journaling & Mood Tracking A private, calm space to write your thoughts and track how you feel. Bloom uses AI to gently guide the conversation - asking simple questions, suggesting prompts, or helping you reflect based on what you write. It feels like a supportive check-in, not a diary you have to figure out on your own 🤍✨

📱 Home Screen Widgets Stay connected to your goals without opening the app. Use widgets for your To-Do list, Travel Map right on your home screen.

🎨 Deep Customization Bloom adapts to every type of user. Adjust font size for better readability, choose your theme, set accent colors, and make the app feel just right for you. Want something cozy? Turn on Winter Mode and watch your App gently snow ❄️✨ Your space, your comfort, your vibe.

🔐 Privacy-First by Design Your Dream Visions and Journal entries are stored locally on your device by default. Bloom is built to be private, personal, and safe - so you can reflect freely without worrying about your thoughts leaving your space 🤍 The Travel tab is the only shared experience, designed for community inspiration. Everything else stays yours, unless you choose otherwise.

How we built it

We built Bloom using Flutter to deliver a smooth, high-performance experience.
Supabase for authentication, real-time syncing, and secure cloud storage
Leveraged home_widget to build native home screen widgets that update in real time based on app activity.
Integrated Mapbox to power the custom-styled, interactive world map used in the Travel Tab.
Implemented RevenueCat to manage Pro subscriptions, entitlements, and paywall logic with ease and reliability.
To bring the app to life, we heavily used flutter_animate and Lottie animations - creating a responsive, playful interface that feels alive and rewarding to use ✨

Challenges we ran into

Widget Syncing: Making home screen widgets update instantly when in-app actions changed.
Map Performance: Optimizing Mapbox memory usage when switching between tabs.
Offline-First Data: Ensuring dreams and journals load instantly offline while syncing in the background.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built for different tastes : Bloom adapts to different user preferences, from visual themes and font sizes - so everyone can shape the app to feel right for them.
Seamless Widget Integration : Created home screen widgets that feel truly native, letting users interact with their To-Do list directly from the home screen.
She Stacks Arcade : Turned complex financial ideas like compound interest and tax brackets into simple, fun mini-games that are easy to understand.
Visual Identity : We’re especially proud of Bloom’s calm, premium feel - from custom themes and glass-style effects to subtle animations that make the app feel alive without being distracting ✨

What we learned

Financial empathy : Building the financial curriculum taught us that money management is as much about mindset and psychology as it is about math.
The Power of Micro-Interactions : Small animations significantly increase user retention and joy.

Expanded Arcade : Introducing career-focused modules designed for real-world growth like Public Speaking practice, Leadership simulations, and confidence-building challenges to help women step into leadership, communicate boldly, and grow professionally.
