Inspiration

I've always been someone who loves management games where you craft an item to give to a customer-- however, I've come to realize that a lot of them are based around food! I wanted to try a different approach to a classic game genre, and found inspiration in my very own neighborhood! I live close to a beautiful flower shop and am always amazed by the wonderful colors, and find myself imagining all the different combinations and possibilities for potential floral arrangements!

What it does

Bloom Boutique is a game where you take orders, create custom bouquets, and manage your flower garden! It's cozy, stylized, and low stress.

How I built it

I used maya and substance painter to create all 3D assets, then used photoshop to create UI mockups.

Challenges I ran into

A big challenge for me was only having a couple of days to create the 3D and UI mockups, since the primary focus was on creating the GDD.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm very proud of having created all of the assets from scratch in only a couple of days!

What I learned

As someone who primarily works as a 3D artist, I've never made a Game Design Document before! Because I've followed plenty, I thought that it would be a breeze-- but I quickly found out how much work goes into them. When you change one system, it can quickly affect how the entire game functions. There was a lot of writing, rewriting, and then rewriting again.

What's next for Bloom Boutique

I would love to find a programmer to work with that could help me bring this game to life!
