Inspiration

Millions of people die needlessly every year because of the lack of donors, additionally, Mexico is the lowest percentile donor in latin-america, we're looking to change both those things.

What it does

Connects potential donors to those in need of blood donations.

How we built it

We built it using react, express, back4app, tailwind, axios, date-fns, parse. query, javascript, typescript, html, css, formik.

Challenges we ran into

Time and expectation management. Adjusting rapidly to new technologies. Working with a NoSQL database. Heavy sleep deprivation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Actually finishing the project, fulfilling and exceeding our own expectations, the clear and realistic social impact our project can produce, amazing work environment and work ethic, everyone used their own strengths to push the team forward, making the app aesthetically pleasing. TLDR; overall doing well in our very first hackathon!

What we learned

Technologies: Back4app (Parse query), NoSQL DBMS, React, Tailwind CSS. Typescript

We learned we can learn new technologies at a much faster pace than we realized, team collaboration is crucial for any successful project, hackathons are not as intimidating as they seem superficially, we learned to do extreme programing (agile methodology)

What's next for Blood Manager

Iterate and implement streach features we didn't quite have time for during the event.
